Published pieces round up

Here's a round up on some neate photos appearing in a handful of media outlets for their features lately.

An entirely new contact was made a few months ago with Portland's Eleven magazine who were looking for photos of Explosions in the Sky for their cover feature. Happy to have made their acquaintance and if you happen to be in Portland, you may still be able to pick up a copy that has an interview by Jonathan Fritz along with my photos taken during separate trips to Brighton by the Austin quartet.

Great fun was had at the beginning of July with the inaugural Raw Power event. London's Corsica Studios were happy for me to capture images of Part Chimp and Teeth of the Sea (above) among others. I then tracked down Rich (formerly of the Line of Best Fit website) and found out he contributes to a new weird music site, the Liminal, who obliged to run a photo feature.

Going back to May, the Great Escape rolled again into town. It's hard for me to be excited about this zombie event though others seemed to like it. On Thursday, I met for the first time Hannah Golightly of Everett True's international website, the Collapse Board, who was excited to see her favourite bands of the moment, Cults (above) and Warpaint on the same night. Apparently ET told her I was an 'established photographer' though as she tells it, maybe she had several photographers on the night as I don't recall meeting nearly as often as she says she did with her photographer. We later teamed up again without meeting on a piece she wrote on How to be a Female Musician Starting Out.

On Saturday of TGE, Mojo invited me to shoot their evening at the Komedia, headlined by the Guillemots (above). They're online review was  repeated in the magazine last month (issue 213) with a small photo of mine of Lanterns on the Lake, who are signed to Bella Union, like their parallel in name label mates, as mentioned above.

In psychiatry news, my report from Ghana for the Royal College of Psychiatrists website went up on their website a month or so ago. I've submitted some other psychiatry pieces lately and will hopefully update with news on them soon. I've also been accepted to start a job in Glasgow later in August and will be moving there when details are confirmed.

Family wise, my nephew Oliver stars with his Mom, Nancy, in this feature and challenge for Rookie Moms.

Lastly super summer festival Supernormal needs your support. Check the link as if you need reminding of why to go! If I'm not in Glasgow by then, at least I'll be Supernormal.
